![]() ![]() The device (Intel SST OED) came back - I'm guessing Win10 reinstalled it after reboot but it was now using a lower driver version: 10. I can now record using the mic plugged into USB-C just fine. Finally, I uninstalled it (also checked the box for "remove device from system", and then rebooted my laptop. I first tried to update the driver for this device by right-clicking on it and selecting Update Driver but that didn't do anything. I checked under Device Manager and looked for Intel Smart Sound Technology and found Intel (R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) OED. The only way I could record was to use a XLR cable (XLR to male 3.5mm) and plugged it into the mic jack of the laptop, but the recording volume was so low. Plugged in the ATR2100x via USB-C and it installed drivers and looks like everything is OK. Had a similar problem, but running Win10 on a Latitude 5420. Right-click on the speaker icon and select Sounds. It is often located at the bottom right of the screen. And make sure that you have 'Automatically adjust microphone level' unchecked in skype. Also make sure you are turned up in the systems Sound Preferences AND the Skype settings (If skype on Mac has independent audio). Locate the speaker icon in the task bar on your computer. Perhaps try a different USB port and/or try on a different computer, just for comparison. ![]() The microphone’s blue LED light will illuminate, indicating the mic is receiving power.
